Rafael Devers launched a three-run homer in the second inning as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Cincinnati Reds 5-0 on Monday night, snapping a four-game losing streak. The Giants jumped ahead early, recording four consecutive hits off Reds right-hander Chase Burns (14-3) in the first inning, including an RBI single by Jung Hoo Lee and a run-scoring double from Turner Hill. Drew Gilbert doubled twice for San Francisco in the early innings.

Giants left-hander Carson Whisenhunt exited in the third inning due to elbow pain and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday. Jason Foley (1-1) earned the victory with 1 1/3 innings of relief work. Whisenhunt was coming off a poor outing at Cleveland where he allowed seven runs across four innings in an 8-1 loss.

The Reds managed no runs, marking their 14th shutout loss this season, tied for the most in baseball. San Francisco improved to 2-8 in their last 10 games following a 1-5 road trip. Brady Singer (5-11, 4.72 ERA) takes the mound for Cincinnati on Tuesday against Giants right-hander Adrian Houser (1-0, 4.08).
