G2 Esports has announced a multi-year partnership with Wizards of the Coast, the gaming company behind Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and various video game titles. The collaboration begins at the EWC CS2 event on August 12, with Wizards of the Coast games featured on G2's Counter-Strike jersey. The partnership launches with Exodus, a sci-fi action RPG from Wizards studio Archetype Entertainment, which will debut on G2's kit during the G2 vs M80 matchup.
G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte described the deal as a natural fit given both parties' focus on gaming culture. Wizards of the Coast's Senior Director of Regional Marketing Mark Cox highlighted G2's influence in shaping how fans experience esports. The partnership grants Wizards access to one of competitive gaming's largest global fanbases, while G2 benefits from a publisher with five decades of brand recognition.
The collaboration opens possibilities for future activations beyond Exodus. Wizards' extensive portfolio includes Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, both potential candidates for jersey features or cross-promotional content. Exodus targets a 2027 release window, suggesting the partnership may represent an extended marketing campaign leading toward launch.
