Poor early performances by new Rangers managers have not prevented future success at Ibrox. Graeme Souness was sent off in his league debut away to Hibernians, with Rangers losing 2-1. Despite these struggles, Rangers went on to win the League Cup and claim the title for the first time in nine years.
The pattern suggests that difficult opening chapters do not determine a manager's ultimate trajectory at the club. Rangers have historically bounced back from inauspicious starts to deliver silverware and league dominance.
