The Scottish Football Association plans to announce Sébastien Pocognoli as the new manager early next week. The 39-year-old Belgian, recently dismissed by Monaco in June, will be Scotland's first non-Scottish manager since Berti Vogts held the role from 2002-04.
Steve Clarke departed after Scotland's group-stage elimination from the World Cup, despite signing a four-year contract extension before the tournament. The SFA explored other foreign candidates, including Jon Dahl Tomasson and Kasper Hjulmand, before settling on Pocognoli.
Scotland's next fixture is a Nations League match against Slovenia on 26 September.
