How we calculate chances
Chances on this site are the market view recalculated from bookmaker odds. They are not a prediction or a guarantee of the outcome.
From odds to chance
Odds of 2.50 mean the bookmaker rates the outcome at about 1 / 2.50 = 40%. This is how we get the "raw" probability of each outcome of the main market: home win, draw, away win (or a win for either side where there is no draw).
Without the margin
The raw probabilities always add up to more than 100% — the difference is the bookmaker margin. We divide each probability by this sum so that the total is exactly 100%. Example: 2.06 / 3.80 / 3.415 → 48.5% + 26.3% + 29.3% = 104.1%, margin 4.1%; chances without the margin are 47% / 25% / 28%.
Rounding
We round percentages to whole numbers so that they add up to exactly 100% (largest remainder method). One outcome may therefore differ by 1 percentage point from simple rounding.
Complete markets only
We calculate chances only when the market has all its outcomes: three for football and ice hockey, two for tennis and other sports without a draw. If an outcome is missing from the odds, we do not show chances: dividing by an incomplete sum would overstate the remaining outcomes.
Odds updates
We check the odds for matches in the next 48 hours every 30 minutes and for the rest every 3 hours; the time of the last check is shown next to the odds. If the odds have not been updated for more than two checks in a row, we flag them as possibly out of date. After kick-off we show the last odds before the start.
AI preview
The short AI preview is written only from the data on the match page: odds, their movement, team form and head-to-head. It does not report line-ups, injuries or inside information that is not in the data, and it is not published when data is scarce or the fact check fails.
Please note
The market can be wrong, and odds change right up to kick-off. Betting involves risk: play responsibly and only where it is legal.
