Defender Alessandro Circati has completed his move from Parma to Benfica for a reported €20 million ($33 million). The Socceroos international described the transfer as a "privilege" following the switch to the Portuguese club.
Circati is the latest Australian player to secure a major European move in the post-World Cup period. Ten Australian internationals have now transferred to top leagues, including Lucas Herrington's move to Hull City in the Premier League and Nestory Irankunda's signing with Benfica rivals Sporting.
