Bowen "Monsoon" Fuller, the 28-year-old Apex Legends World Champion, grew up experiencing homelessness with his family. They survived by selling possessions at flea markets to afford hotel stays, living six people in a Honda hatchback where Fuller slept in the trunk. The only item he managed to preserve was a damaged computer with a soldered power supply that fit in his backpack.
Fuller describes the emotional toll of his childhood, watching peers continue school and friendships while he remained displaced. He recalls sneaking away to cry alone in the family car at night, feeling isolated and left behind as other children his age developed normally. The pain of that separation shaped his formative years despite his family's efforts to survive.
That makeshift computer became Fuller's escape and eventually his pathway to success. His perseverance through those difficult circumstances led him to become a world champion in competitive esports, demonstrating how determination can overcome extreme hardship.
