OpTic Texas emerged as the dominant force throughout the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 competitive season, appearing in all Grand Finals across four Majors, Champs, and the Esports World Cup. The team won two of six possible trophies while never finishing lower than second place, mirroring an achievement not seen since 2011's Modern Warfare 3. The roster of Mason "Mercules" Ramsey, Cuyler "Huke" Garland, Brandon "Dashy" Otell, and Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas-Castro proved to be one of the strongest lineups in Call of Duty League history through their combination of aggressive slaying, mechanical skill, and clutch performances.
Shotzzy's mastery of Black Ops 7's movement mechanics gave OpTic a competitive advantage throughout the year. His use of jump spots and wall bouncing created space for teammates while occupying opposing players' attention, enabling high-impact plays when needed most. With rostermania underway for the next season, OpTic Texas is expected to retain its current lineup given the team's sustained success.
The competitive meta requires greater weapon diversity to maintain viewer interest and gameplay variety. While Black Ops 7 featured numerous weapons, competitive bans left players with limited viable options. The Dravec 45 submachine gun and M15 Mod 0 assault rifle dominated early competition before the Dravec's dominance prompted a shift toward the MPC-25, which increased player mobility and map navigation speed.
