James O'Leary, known as Stress, transitioned from casting European League of Legends competitions to building the UK's Riftbound community. After stepping back from professional casting in 2017, he worked with various LEC organizations and recently commentated at multiple Riftbound Qualifiers across Europe. His 15 years of trading card game experience combined with his broadcasting background positioned him to support the growing competitive Riftbound scene.

The UK has developed a substantial player base for Riftbound, with major cities hosting events that regularly attract 80 or more participants. Stress observed this growth across London venues and regional Qualifiers, recognizing an opportunity to create a properly structured competitive event beyond standard store tournaments. He decided to organize his own gathering rather than wait for others to fill the gap.

His event takes place August 15th at Dice Saloon in Brighton and Hove, England, featuring 64 competitors and competitive prize support. The tournament reflects growing momentum in the Riftbound competitive landscape following successful national showcases in Poland and Canada, establishing the UK as an emerging hub for the game's grassroots competitive scene.
